A Christmas Carol, a Play for Live Radio

The Woodland Opera House Is Proud to Present

“A Christmas Carol, a Play for Live Radio”

an Original Work by Bob Cooner

The Woodland Opera House is proud to present a world-premiere production written by local playwright Bob Cooner.  Presented virtually “A Christmas Carol, a Play for Live Radio” is a twist on a holiday classic.

Five actors (Matthew Abergel, Patricia Glass, Rodger McDonald, Gil Sebastian, and Lenore Sebastian) create the voices of all the familiar Dickens characters in this 1940’s radio broadcast-style play “Adapting Dickens’ tale, which includes dozens of characters, as a radio script for only five actors presented a challenge, but it was a challenge the actors were excited to meet. I wanted to include as much of Charles Dickens’ rich, colorful language as possible—not only the familiar phrases and passages from the original novella, but also a lot of the language that so strongly appeals to the senses.” says writer and director Bob Cooner.

This online presentation was generously sponsored by Corner Drug, Co, The Woodland Opera House Guild and Music Town Studios.
