“TV Tunes”

 

Youth Summer Theatre Camp Show Biz Kidz- “TV Tunes” 2022

WOH Youth Summer Theatre Camp is an annual program designed to be an introduction to theatre performance for area youth with or without previous training or experience. Students spend 4 weeks studying musical theatre technique including, singing, dancing, voice projection, characterization, theatre terminology, and theatre etiquette and professionalism. Students will develop performance skills and will be given an equal opportunity to shine on stage. The camp will culminate with performances of a “TV Tunes”, a Broadway -style musical revue featuring TV Theme songs such as “Gilligan’s Island,” “Bewitched,” “Friends” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

 

For students who have completed kindergarten – 17 years old

 

Camp runs June 20th – July 17th (No class Monday, July 4)

 

Dress Rehearsals: July 13-15 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Performances: July 15 at 7:00 and July 16 & 17 at 2:00
(All performances and dress rehearsals mandatory)

Show Biz Kidz Junior Group:
Completed kindergarten through age 7
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3:30-4:30*
*9:00-12:00 July 13-15 for dress rehearsals
Tuition: $190 – 4 Spots left as of 4/11/22! 

 

Show Biz Kidz Morning Group:
Ages 8-10
Monday – Friday 9:00 – 12:00 pm
July 13-15 are dress rehearsals

Show Biz Kidz Afternoon Group:
Ages 11-17
Monday – Friday 12:30 to 3:30 pm

Registration opens Monday, January 3rd. Email TADAOffice@woodlandoperahouse.org once registered in Jackrabbit to enroll in the camp and fill out a quick student questionnaire.

 

A $50 deposit is required to enroll your child and hold their spot. Tuition can be paid in full or through a tuition plan arranged through our Front Desk.  Final payment is due by May 20th. Late registrations are accepted depending on availability.

Deposits are fully refundable. However, once tuition has been paid in full, there are no refunds.

Summer Ballet Intensive 

 

This class is for dancers who want to continue to improve their technique through the summer. This is a great opportunity to build strength, and sharpen skills. This is not a beginner class (see prerequisite below).

Pointe is included in the class time, but students do not need to be en pointe to participate.

 

Instructors: Ania Mieszkowski (Session A), Crystal Rea (Session B)

Session A: June 20th through July 7th, 2022

Session B: July 11th through July 28th, 2022

Time: Monday through Thursday 4:00 – 5:30 pm

 

Pre-Requisite: Dancers must already have been leveled into either Vermillion or Red Ballet.  Orange Ballet students may take Session B only, twice weekly. 

 

Tuition: $160 each session.  $300 for both.  (Orange Ballet: $80.00 for Session B)

Nutcracker Summer Session

 

Does your dancer wish to participate in the holiday Nutcracker Sweet in the Corps de Ballet or in a solo role? If so, they cannot miss this workshop!  All the specific corps de ballet and solo variations will be taught during this crucial summer session.  Please note, starting in September there will be one evening rehearsal a week (last year’s rehearsal: Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30) to keep everything fresh and to polish the final details.

In order to participate in the Nutcracker in the Corps de ballet or in a solo role, dancers must be available for both the summer session and the Nutcracker class starting in September (date/time TBD).  All students are also expected to attend their regular twice a week ballet class.  To participate, students must be enrolled in orange, vermillion, or red ballet.

Summer Ballet Classes

Calling all young dancers! We have wonderful opportunities for ballet classes this summer for children ages 3 to 10 years old.

 

Creative Movement: Ages 3 to 4 years old

Experience the joy of learning how to move freely and creatively to music while learning beginning ballet technique.  This class is designed to help build retention, improve fine motor skills, and build muscle coordination.

When: Tuesdays 9:00 to 9:45 am, June 21st through July 12th, 2022.

Where: Woodland Opera House’s 4th Street Rehearsal Hall, 415 4th Street (behind La Fogata.)

Tuition: $60.00

 

Pre-Ballet A: Ages 5 to 7 years old

The perfect class for new dancers eager to learn the basics of ballet technique in a nurturing environment. In addition to learning ballet technique and improving retention skills, young dancers will explore creative dance while having fun.

Instructor: Anna Walton

When: Tuesdays 10:00 to 10:45 am, June 21st through July 12th, 2022.

Where: Woodland Opera House’s 4th Street Rehearsal Hall, 415 4th Street (behind La Fogata.)

Tuition: $60.00

 

Pre-Ballet B: Ages 5 to 7 years old

This class is designed for returning dancers eager to review the basics of ballet technique in a nurturing environment. In addition to reviewing ballet technique previously learned, young dancers will be challenged to add on additional ballet movements, improve retention skills, and will explore creative dance while having fun.

When: Mondays 10:00 to 10:45 am, June 21st through July 12th, 2022.

Summer Ballet Basics: Ages 8 to 10 years old

Get a leg up on your ballet technique for the fall academic season by taking this summer session designed to fine-tune technique and review essential steps to allow young dancers to glide into the fall.

Instructor: Anna Walton

When: Wednesdays and Fridays, 4:00 to 4:55 pm, June 22nd through July 15th.

Where: Woodland Opera House Theatre and Dance Annex, 520 Court Street, Woodland.

Tuition: $120.00

Summer Hip-Hop Fun

 

Summer Hip-Hop Fun – Ages 10-12 years old – This class will focus on technique and introduce various hip-hop trends and steps. Class time will involve isolations/warmups, musicality, and practicing technique and choreography.

Workshop Details: Fridays, 4 pm, June 24th through July 29th

Summer Hip-Hop Choreo Jam

 

 

Summer Hip-Hop Choreo Jam – Ages 13+ This intermediate class aims to build strength and confidence while learning or creating choreography. Students will work both solo and in small groups. Class time will include isolations, musicality, choreography, and performing for each other.
