This class will provide you the skills needed to have confidence at your next audition when the director calls out, “put on your dance shoes!” Teaching retention of choreography, committing to big choices and personalities, and having fun learning different styles of musical theatre dance is what this class is all about! So whether you are interested in improving skills or staying in shape, this class is for you!

This four week series of dance classes celebrates musicals set in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Classes will focus on technique, stretching and learning dance numbers to your favorite 50’s-60’s musical theater numbers. This class is perfect for beginning-intermediate level students.

About the Instructor:
Jeff has choreographed and directed for companies throughout California including Alameda CLO, Contra Contra Costa Music Theater, Diablo Light Opera Company, The Bracebridge Dinner in Yosemite, Bay Area Educational Theater Company, Placer Pops Chorale and Inland Valley Repertory. Favorite productions include CHICAGO (IVRT-Outstanding Production of a Musical and Best Choreography-LA Stage and Screen), RAGTIME (DLOC/Shelly Award), HAIR, AIDA and EVITA (ACLO), and DAMN YANKEES (CCMT-Shelly Nomination). He was Executive/Artistic Director at ACLO and Associate Artistic Director at IVRT. Jeff also taught at the Westlake School of Performing Arts in Palo Alto and Lamorinda Theater Arts Academy in Lafayette and is currently the resdient choreographer for the Davis High Jazz Choir and Lincoln Theater Company. As a performer he worked for 4 years at the Curtain Call Dinner Theater in Tustin, Ca, toured with the Young Americans and danced at Disneyland. Other productions include No, No, Nanette (LaMirada Civic Light Opera) starring Susan Egan, Babes (RK Productions) starring Stephanie Block, Pajama Game (California Music Theater) starring Pat Harrington, Mary Jo Catlett, and Patti Colombo and The Man Who Came To Dinner (Inland Valley Repertory) starring Nedra Volz. Other favorite roles include The Snake, Balleader and Narrator in The Apple Tree and Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. Jeff is also the Youth Director at Elk Grove Methodist Church where he shares his passion of faith, diversity and inclusion with people of his community.
